Privacy and protecting your personal data is important to us at Cura Body Ltd. Our privacy policy details, the type of data we collect, how we obtain it, how we store it and your data protection rights.

The type of personal information we collect

When you register your interest with Cura Body and/or become a client, you will provide us with personal and health related data which we collect and process. The data you provide is in through the following formats:

  • Questionnaires and forms

  • During phone, video calls, email correspondence, post and online chat messages.

  • Taking financial information, by taking online and credit card payment

  • During our consultations

The personal data you provide is likely to include:

  • Basic details: name, address, phone number, next of kin

  • Details of previous and current correspondence

  • Health data– symptoms, past medical history, test results, clinic notes, and treatment plans

  • GP contact information

  • Bank details

How is this collected and used?

Data is collected to gain a comprehensive understanding of your health concerns and provide you with the best healthcare possible. We act as a data controller for use of your personal data to provide direct healthcare.  We also act as a controller and processor in regard to the processing of your data from third parties such as the highly regarded testing companies and other healthcare providers we have carefully chosen, with whom we may need to discuss your test results with for interpretation purposes. In accordance with inspection requirements, your data may also be shared with the Care Quality Commission (England), which assesses the safety and quality of services provided.  We act as a data controller and processor in regard to the processing of credit card and online payments too.

We may utilise your personal data if there is a compelling public interest, such as legal or safeguarding reasons. We may use your data for clinical auditing, education, and marketing purposes, including newsletters, but only after you have provided consent via a separate form. You will be provided with a separate GDPR information consent form to fill out. You have the option to opt out at any time.

We do not sell or trade your Personal Data to others.  At Cura Body we adhere to the principles of the Data Protection Act 2018. We do not share personal information with third parties unless we have your permission or are required by law to do so.

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), Cura Body has a legitimate interest in collecting your data to provide you with the optimum services you have requested from Cura Body or the practitioners contracted with Cura Body as Data Controllers.

Cura Body also utilises cookies and gathers IP addresses to assist in monitoring your visits and activities on the website, and may identify a specific computer or other device on the internet. Cookies are small files that are placed on your electronic device. However, please note that this data is non-personal, and no personal data is stored within the cookies. In most instances, your consent will be required to use cookies on this website. Our aim in using cookies is to deliver the best possible content and user experience.

We collaborate with external suppliers who may also place cookies on our website, such as Facebook and Instagram. These suppliers are accountable for the cookies they place on our site. If you require more information, please visit the website of the respective third party. We use Google Analytics to track visits to the site. More information about Google Analytics can be found on the Google Analytics website.

Information may also be shared if we think it is best to refer you onto another specialist, or if you would like results to be sent on to your GP or other health care professional. In these cases, we would discuss this with you and gain your consent before doing so.

How we store your personal information

In accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018 and Access to Health Records Act you have the following:

Your data protection rights

  • You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information and medical record by contacting support@cura-body.com

  • You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.

  • You have the right to ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances, subject only to imperatives of public policy specified in the GDPR (Art. 17.3), or to our own specific needs concerning legal obligations or claims.

  • You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances. If you consented to us collecting and/or processing your personal information but change your mind, you can get in touch with us to request that we erase the personal information that we hold about you.

  • You have the the right to object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.

  • You have the right to ask that we transfer the personal information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.

  • Know if their personal information has been forwarded to a third-party (e.g a fellow healthcare professional, consultant etc).

  • You can request that your personal information be sent to you in electronic format.
